MS. Rivera

Hi! I’m a certified New York mathematics teacher with six years of classroom experience teaching students from middle school through high school. I hold both a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from Hunter College, and I’m professionally certified to teach grades 7–12 in New York.

Over the years, I’ve taught 6th Grade Math, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2, helping students build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and prepare for important exams, including the New York State Regents. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching to each individual’s needs, whether they need help catching up, staying on track, or challenging themselves to excel.

My tutoring sessions focus on creating a supportive, judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. I break down complex concepts into manageable steps, encourage critical thinking, and use a variety of strategies to help students truly understand the material rather than simply memorize procedures.

Whether your student needs homework support, test preparation, Regents review, or ongoing enrichment, I’m committed to helping them gain confidence and achieve their academic goals. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students develop the problem-solving skills and self-confidence that will benefit them long after our sessions are over.
